Should I go on a Pre – Tour?

Should I go on a Pre – Tour?

We always have a great turn out from the GB&I Round Table Family at 41 INTERNATIONAL events, so here are some questions for you:

  • Are you going to a 41 INTERNATIONAL AGM or Half Yearly Meeting (HYM) in the future?
  • Are you going on the Pre – Tour?
  • If not, WHY NOT?

A lot of people are regulars on the 41 INTERNATIONAL Pre Tours and get tremendous Fun and Friendship out of them. If you have never been on a Pre Tour before, here are some of the reasons why you should think about it – and then book in!!

  • You get the chance to see a country or region of a country which you have never been to before – a new travel experience.
  • You do it in the company of a great bunch of people who all think in the same way – we are all members of the Round Table Family.
  • You get to places that are not on the usual “tourist trail” so you will have experiences that a tourist would not normally have.
  • You do all of this in a well organised (usually) and fun programme of trips and visits.

So, did Christoph Haenssler and the Switzerland team deliver on ALL of these reasons to go on a Pre Tour? See what you think.

Following lunch, we were taken to visit a cheese maker in the Emmental region, the only region where true Emmentaler cheese can be made.

Here, Christoph had arranged for the local cheese expert to show us how he managed to make the holes in Emmental cheese.

And Yes, the photograph is real and it did happen!!!

How’s that for a spectacular start to the tour?

Tuesday was a trip to Biel to visit the Omega Museum where we discovered that Omega don’t just make watches as our 2 finely-honed athletes demonstrate Omega’s Olympics starting mechanism and a Past 41 INTERNATIONAL President highlights Omega’s involvement in space landings – if you are unsure, Bruce McKay is on the right in the photograph.

This was followed by a boat trip to St Peters Island for a magnificent lunch and then a trip to a local vineyard owned by a Round Tabler.

On Wednesday there was a choice – either a trip on the Panorama Express and a 2-hour stroll down the mountain to Gstaad and then on to see Freddie Mercury in Montreux or a visit to Giessbach to see the famous Giessbach Falls and then, as our intrepid sailors demonstrate, a voyage on the lake at Interlaken

And then came the last day of the Pre Tour, Thursday, and a visit to the Schilthorn - Piz Gloria, world famous for its 360-degree revolving restaurant and as the film location for the iconic Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".

Even the Knees got an outing at the summit despite the weather!!!

Everybody is tired

And then on Thursday evening and Friday everybody else arrived for the HYM for a great weekend of a different type of Fun and Friendship even though some of us were a little tired and emotional.

So Did Christoff of the team meet our expectations – Yes, they definitely did.

And if you are going to the 41 INTERNATIONAL AGM in Iceland and have not yet booked in to the Pre Tour, WHY NOT?
