The 2023 walking weekend was held in Alcester Warwickshire on 7th to 9th July. There were 43 members booked into The Kings Court on the outskirts of Alcester. These were joined on the walks and also at the evening meals by 8 locals over the weekend. The locals joined the walks, which were based on The Millennium Way, a 100 mile walk in the Midlands created by Solihull 41 Club in 2000. There are also 44 circular walks off the circular route.
Some of the group walked a circular approx 5 miles on Friday afternoon before checking into the hotel. On Saturday morning, all walked 4.5 miles before enjoying lunch in Alcester. In the afternoon there was a choice of walks from 2 miles to 9 miles. On Sunday some of the group had another 5 mile walk before returning home.
On the Saturday night after the meal, many adjourned to the bar for some additional liquid fellowship, where we were joined by a Welsh Male Voice Choir, who led what turned out to be a rousing sing-a-long.

Apparently, this group of walkers were asked if they were going to a wedding! We know that anything goes these days, but really??

I'm in charge here!

Paying attention to our leader before the walk on a very warm Friday afternoon.

A bit of respite from the hot sun, but the pub is not too far away now.

And the aptly named bar at the hotel!
