Much Achieved - Much to Do
A plea for help from the German Round Table Family
Some of you will be are aware that a number of us from the GB&I Round Table Family will be in Hanau, Germany on 29th November ready and willing to join this year’s German Christmas Aid Convoy delivering many lorry loads of presents to the Ukraine border and throughout Moldova.
The same team in Germany are constantly helping the people of Ukraine in these times of need – the House of Hope, aid convoys throughout the year – under the brand Freunde Helfen (Friends Help) – a massive humanitarian effort.
For the last 3 months they have been sending lorry loads of basic care packages to the occupied and desperate Ukrainian Black Sea city of Kherson. Every package is paid for from donations. The need is that great that funds are running out.
They need our help to continue sending these care packages.
One Club at their next meeting will be asking for voluntary donations (or possibly the Sergeant at Arms) equivalent to the price of one beer each member.
If others could take up the same challenge those in Kherson will be eternally grateful.
In fact even better – a bit of rough and ready maffs...
- 1 beer each x 20 members = €100
- Say 210 Clubs (one third of our membership) = €21,000
- That will sponsor 1 complete truck load
- Feeding some 3,000 mostly women and children in desperate need.
That would be a massive contribution from all in 41 Club GB&I
