Peter Virgo - Windsor and Eaton 41 Club

Peter Virgo

Windsor and Eton Round Table and 41 Club.

Peter passed away on the 26th April 2015. He was a very proud family man; talented athlete, representing his country; an Architect, and an enthusiastic member of the Windsor and Eton Round Table acting as Chairman in 1983/4 and subsequently an active member of 41 Club being Chairman in 1992/3.

Peter was born on the 7th October 1944 with his twin brother John. He was very proud of his humble roots being brought up in Slough, attending Slough Grammar School and both he and John continuing their further education to become Chartered Architects.

Although his life revolved around his wife Anne and their 3 children, Ben, Zoe and Emma, he lead an active life as an Architect joining Edgington Spink & Hyne in Windsor in 1972. He became Senior Partner of the practice before retiring in 2003; having been involved in major projects in the town and guiding the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in the town “face lift” programme.

However, it was his love of athletics that really defined him, both as a competitor and senior athletics judge. Peter joined Windsor Slough and Eton Athletics Club at an early age and was very active at the club until his illness stopped him competing, having latterly been competing for the GB veterans.

Peter was a very kind genuine man, very fair to all and always seeing the best in people. He will be sadly missed by many and especially his family. However, Peter set a fine example for us all to follow, to lead life to the full.
