Cliff McClure - Leyland 41 Club

Clifford (Cliff) Anderson McClure

31st May, 1939 - 16th August 2020.

Leyland 41 Club is saddened at the passing of Cliff, born in Dunmurry, nr Lisburn, County Antrim, Northern Ireland and married Betty in 1964. They moved with daughter Debbie to Leyland in 1971, for Cliff to take up a position as a civil engineer on a very large housing estate being built very close to Leyland.

Not long after their second daughter Ashleigh was born, both Cliff and Betty joined Round Table and Ladies Circle respectively and they joined in all the activities of both clubs.

Cliff latterly joined the house building sector of Pilkington’s Glass Company, and he was well known for the quality of the finish to the houses that he built. Cliff was a Manchester United Fan, and many of us enjoyed his company in the firm’s director’s box at Old Trafford. He enjoyed being a chairman of Leyland 41 Club in 1990-91. Cliff’s time in 41 Club was cut short by poor health. Our thoughts go to all of his family at home and abroad.
