Tony Lowe - Solihull 41 Club

Tony Lowe 26 January 1955 – 20 October 2020

It is with much sadness Solihull 41 Club announce the death of our member Tony Lowe, Past Chairman of Solihull RT 1991/92.

From a very early age Tony became passionate about cars. So much so, he got his first car at the age of twelve. On leaving school he gained an apprenticeship which led to a substantive job with a local Vehicle Body Repairer. After a spell at Royal Insurance as a motor engineer he set up his own vehicle body repair business in 1987 which has grown to four branches across the Midlands. He was very well respected in the Motor Industry, sitting on the Main Board of the Retail Motor Industry Federation and the National Association of Body Shops.

Tony joined Round Table in the mid-eighties and became Chairman in 1991. He gave huge support to Table’s annual Christmas Appeal and master minded the refurbishment of the ‘sleigh’ when it needed a new trailer which he ensured not only complied with current legislation but also anticipated future requirements. Tony will be most remembered for his infectious laugh, big personality, huge heart, love of chocolate and a determination to assist anyone in need.

In his ‘spare’ time, Tony built his own house, was a school governor for many years and built one of the largest collections of model railways which started with him attending Sunday morning Car Boot Fairs.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and especially by his wife Sandra and their four children Jodie, Ben, Sam and Joe.
