Graham Combe - Toddington 41 Club

GRAHAM JAMES COMBE

Toddington 41 Club

Our good friend Graham passed away

on 25 April 2018, at the age of 82, after a protracted period of poor health.A strong contingent of Club Members joined his widow (Ros) and their family to say their final farewells at Crownhill Crematorium, Milton Keynes on 16 May 2018.

Graham was a founder member of Toddington & District Round Table 1118, holding the office of Chairman for 1975-1976.He subsequently became a founder member of Toddington 41 Club, and its Chairman for 1999-2000.As an active and supportive member of both Clubs, he moved seamlessly in his later years into the role of “elder statesman”, gaining the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his sound opinions and sardonic wit.

As well as being a family man, Graham was a player and lifelong supporter of Rugby Union, his knowledge and appraisal of the game being second to none. There’s no doubt that his acerbic comments from the touchline will have reddened the ears of many a referee! In retirement he took on a voluntary role as a trustee and advisor for the Citizens’ Advice Bureau, where his forthright, kind, but uncompromising approach benefitted many of those who came seeking help.

We’ll remember Graham and his contribution to our lives with great affection.
