Region 6 Yorkshire

Shaun Noel Redman

About me, I was born in the outskirts of Leeds in 1958, so I am a true Yorkshire man, however my father was a Lancastrian and my mother is a Yorkshire lady. I grew up in Leeds and after leaving school joined Post Office Telecommunications as an apprentice engineer in 1975, I met my long-suffering wife Joan, in the early 80’s and we married 1984. stayed in Telecommunications with BT and then O2 until 2017, when I was offered early retirement.

I joined Pudsey Round Table 606 in late 1995 and was Table Chairman in 1996-97, Area 9 Secretary in 1997-98, Area 9 National Councillor 1998-2000, I was elected to RTBI National Exec at Blackpool Conference as Sports & Social Officer, a post I held for 4 yours until I retired from RTBI at the 2004 AGM. Of course, RTBI doesn’t let you go easily, I was Batley 230 President in 2006-07, and have been seconded on 5 further NSW’s committees since my retirement!

I joined Batley 41 club in 2010 and attended regularly until they decided to dis-affiliate in 2017. I am also a member of the OBE 41 club, and was Chairman in 2016-17. When Batley disaffiliated I transferred to Pudsey 41 club and was Chairman through Covid.

With the passing of my elderly auntie, for whom I was primary carer, we sold our house in Leeds and ran away to the seaside. Joan and I now live in Bridlington on the Yorkshire Riviera, and I transferred into B41 (Bridlington) 2.5 years ago. I was elected 41Club Region 6 Yorkshire National Councillor in 2023.
