Six members of Ashby 41 Club (Greg, Goody, Kevin, JR, Woody and Ian) and one from Ashby Table (Crawfie) attended the 2015 Region 10 Cluster dinner at Breadsall Priory on Friday 25th September. To ensure that the alcohol intake was maintained for everybody during the evening, a minibus was arranged from Ashby, with pre-dinner entertainment provided by JR regaling us all with tales from his Speed Awareness Course taken the preceding week....

This is one of my favourite signs and typifies the theme of the annual Ashby Round Table annual Country Walk! This took place in the Peak District on Saturday 3rd October, with 16 Tablers and 41ers taking part. The weather this year was perfect, dry, not too warm (although it was when you w...

Club news: Ashby-de-la-Zouch
Seven members of Ashby 41 Club (me, Goody, Hugh, Greg, Pete B, Kevin and JR) ventured north to the Royal Armouries in Leeds on 12th September for the 70th Anniversary Lunch of 41 Club. The first problem when we arrived at the venue at 11:30 was that the bar wasn't due to open until 12 noon, but fortunately common sense prevailed and pints of Black Sheep bitter were being served only 10 minutes later!

It was National Burger day in the US last week, so it would be nice to report we were recognising the celebrations of our transatlantic cousins. It would be a lie, though. Just a fluke, as we neither adopted, adapted nor improved.Nothing flash this month, simply a burger plus a free pint from The Folly, plus plenty of banter making for an excellent evening, of which I remember nothing except having a good time (I w...

The result was close, with Guisborough coming out triumphantly 7 : 5. Hopefully this is something that can be repeated and Peter Milburn is going to organise a trophy in time for the next inter-club challenge. Great food, fine ales and free ...
